Samford University; Birmingham, AL Dr. Davenport has trained with many experts in the field of urological cancer and robotic urologic surgery and has been performing robotic surgery since 2008 including robotic prostate cancer removal (prostatectomy), kidney removal (nephrectomy), and robotic reconstructive surgery. In 2010, he authored The Patient and Physician Guide to daVinci Robotic Prostatectomy. Dr. Davenport has also received extensive training and has published many articles and papers in the field of female incontinence. Dr. Davenport is the leading female stress incontinence surgeon between Memphis and Nashville. He has performed more than 1,200 female incontinence procedures in his career in West Tennessee. Additionally, he is the first and only urologist in West Tennessee to receive a National Center of Excellence Award as a UroLift surgeon, a revolutionary and minimally-invasive enlarged prostate procedure. Dr. Davenport has established at The Jackson Clinic a state-of-the-art cancer diagnosis and treatment center by offering prostate cancer biomarkers, and MRI fusion prostate biopsy to aid in accurate diagnosis of prostate cancer. Dr. Davenport is a two-time recipient of the Tennessee Doctor of the Year Award presented by the Tennessee Men’s Health Network in Nashville for work toward the advancement of prostate disease awareness and treatment as well as the continued pursuit of men's urologic health in Tennessee. When not busy as a urologist, Dr. Davenport enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. His passions are golf, UT football, Cardinals baseball, Grizzlies basketball, and coaching his kids’ teams. He currently serves in leadership positions at YoungLife Jackson and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Dr. Davenport has served as a YoungLife camp physician eight summers in a row, serving the medical needs of 500 kids at a time at camp. Honors/Awards/Grants: 2012 and 2015 Doctor of the Year in the State of Tennessee Award presented by the Tennessee Men’s Health Network in Nashville, TN for work toward the advancement of prostate disease awareness and treatment as well as the continued pursuit of men's urologic health in Tennessee. 2009 Hardy Outstanding Research Award- Recognized for research in the field of female incontinence and surgical reconstruction. Since 2005, Dr. Davenport has given numerous regional and national presentations as well as published articles in multiple journals including the Journal of Urology®, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics. These have been in the areas of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer, as well as female urinary incontinence (leakage), pelvic organ prolapse, and kidney stones.
