High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men. For many men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer, your urologist may recommend local treatment with removal of the prostate (prostatectomy) or radiation. These both carry common side effects which may include sexual side effects, incontinence, and other possible risks. High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) was approved by the FDA in October 2015. It offers a treatment option for patients with prostate cancer with significantly reduced chance of sexual side effects and incontinence. The procedure is less invasive than surgery for removal of the prostate. Dr Scott Castle is proud to offer this treatment at The Jackson Clinic for eligible patients.
