A family practitioner's primary focus is his or her patient and their family's health care needs. They provide general medical care, such as check-ups and treatment for illnesses and injuries, for an individual and/or their entire family. Family practitioners have received a wide range of medical training including pediatrics, geriatrics, internal medicine, and gynecology.
